City Tour in Santiago
City Tour in Santiago de Chile – Discover the main historical, tourist, and cultural attractions of Chile’s capital.
Overview: We invite you to explore every corner of Santiago with the exclusive tour that CaminAndes has prepared for you. Through a guided City Tour, you will enjoy the history, architectural heritage, and popular culture of Chile’s capital. In a walking tour lasting 2:30 hours, we will take you to the main tourist spots: Palacio de la Moneda, Plaza de la Ciudadanía, Plaza de Armas, Catedral de Santiago, Cerro Santa Lucía, Av. Alameda, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Biblioteca Nacional, Paseo Ahumada, Universidad Católica, Universidad de Chile, Barrio Lastarria, Barrio Paris y Londres, and more. To end the tour, we will head to the Santiago Cable Car (Pedro de Valdivia Norte area) to ascend to the top of Cerro San Cristóbal using this modern transportation system. From its viewpoint (880 masl), you will enjoy a 280° view of Santiago while sipping on a glass of “mote con huesillo,” a traditional Chilean refreshment.
Tour Plan: Our transportation will pick you up from your hotel at the time previously agreed upon with the CaminAndes team. We will park in Barrio Lastarria, where the City Tour begins. As the tour is circular, we will return to this same point after completing the walking tour through the city’s historic center. Don’t worry about the walk—we won’t have to retrace our steps! For the final part of the tour, we will take our transportation to the entrance of Santiago Metropolitan Park via Pedro de Valdivia Norte. Here, we will board the Santiago Cable Car, offering stunning views of the city and taking us to the summit of Cerro San Cristóbal. At the summit, we will visit its viewpoint and enjoy the national drink, “mote con huesillo.” This marks the end of our tour. We will descend via the Cable Car to the parking area, where we will board the transportation back to your hotel.
Tour Recommendations: To make this City Tour an unforgettable experience, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the walking portion. Since Santiago experiences all four seasons, dress accordingly (we suggest checking the weather before heading out). Lastly, use sunscreen and bring a medium-sized water bottle.
*Important: The Santiago Cable Car is closed on Mondays.
