Our History
CaminAndes was established in 2018 to offer unique tourism experiences in San Pedro de Atacama. At that time, most agencies provided mass tourism services by taking large buses to popular tourist destinations. However, we strongly believe that the best way to explore the Atacama is by taking your time, listening to the silence, walking, and connecting with every moment. This is why we offer personalized tourism services that cater to your unique needs.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we have been able to rethink our operations and create new routes. Our focus on personalization and alternative schedules has helped us provide the best possible experience to our customers as tourism gradually resumes.
In 2021, we opened Hostal CaminAndes at Caracoles 66 street. This serves as our base of operations for the tourism agency and a welcoming space for our passengers. We are excited to continue writing our story with you. There are many more chapters to come, and we encourage you to join us on this journey.
As a travel agency we have:
SEMI-PRIVATE TOURS
Tours are conducted with a minimum of two people and a maximum of eight. Working with small groups facilitates the interaction between the passengers and the guide.
CERTIFIED GUIDES
The guides are essential for you to have a good experience on the excursions. The terrain we work in is rugged and difficult to access. This is why having experienced guides certified by SERNATUR is essential to offer a safe and quality service.
SAFE VEHICLES
The vehicles we work with are our own and we pay great attention to their maintenance. We also carry satellite communication in each vehicle, so we can react quickly to any emergency.
FULL EXPERIENCE
Our schedules are differentiated to avoid the agglomeration of people, since the experience and connection with nature is one of our main objectives. In addition, our service is personalized, while the WhatsApp communication channel is operational around the clock to answer all your questions.
GASTRONOMY
CaminAndes offers a complete food service for the tours, including breakfast, lunch or rich cocktails during the excursions. In each one we consider any dietary restrictions, as there is nothing better than being able to sit and eat in good company with spectacular scenery.
Founders
After working for years with tourism in San Pedro de Atacama, Paula and León decided to create their way of doing tourism in Atacama. With the idea of making a personalized tourist experience, CaminAndes provides quality and excellent service for all passengers who wish to know the magic of the Desert.
Paula has a degree in Tourism from DUOC, where she transformed her dreams of traveling into a profession. For his part, León came from Brazil to be enchanted by the Andes Mountains, and now specializes as a mountain guide in northern Chile. Since 2018 they came together in this new project to show you the amazing beauty of San Pedro de Atacama.
