Ideal for those who want to initiate high-altitude trekking or acclimatize for a higher-altitude volcano.
The Cerro Jorquencal is a low-intensity and low technical difficulty hill with a panoramic view, facing the Andes and also the Salar de Atacama basin. We’ll leave early in the morning towards the same route as the Tatio Geysers. To reach the base of the hill, we’ll take 1,5 h by car, parking at 4,200 m.a.s.l. The ascent is a marked trail, with some slopes but of low technical difficulty. The climb takes 1 to 2 hours to the summit, where we’ll have a spectacular panoramic view.
The descent lasts from 30 minutes to 1 hour. A great opportunity to discover new routes and marvel at the scenery of the Altiplano and the Andes!

The difference in altitude is approximately 300 meters. Recommended for people who have no experience in mountaineering, who have good physical preparation, and want to get started in the activity. It’s also optimal for mountaineers who are acclimatizing to larger volcanoes.
Recommendations: Warm clothing, trekking shoes, sunscreen, and at least two liters of water. Consult the season and temperature directly with the agency.
